I'm a 17 year old in coming college freshman. Who is looking to pursue a job as a High school psychologist . I grew up in Brownsville, Brooklyn and I’m going to college pursue a BA degree in Psychology. And I am expected to graduate in the year 2027. I’m looking to make a difference in my community and to uplift teens by giving them the support I wish I had. In all of the programs that I have attended, I’ve worked my hardest to create a difference in the world.
THEO (Teens helping each other) - New York, NY July 2022 to August 2023
I began as a trainee who studied for 6 weeks and sexual health,public speaking, following fidelity, LGBTQ +, and more! After the 6 weeks I began work as a Youth Advocate for a adolescent education program called THEO. We conduct workshops in schools & after school programs.
And as an put reach technique we attended tabling events and went to parks and popular areas to support at risk youth on topics such as Pregnancy prevention, HIV and STDs/STI Prevention,Healthy relationships, LGBTQ+ as well. Within that I gained skills like social media, presentation creating, and was a team player. This jobs helped with with public speaking and communication skills.
Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) - Brooklyn, NY July 2021 to August 2021
I worked as team player to create a project based off of different discrepancies in our community. We created a website and did extensive research about poverty and low income communities and put together creative ways we can fix the issues
