Jeffrey Klein

Ny name is Jeffrey Klein and i currently reside in Oak Lawn, IL. For the last nine years I have worked in Local 476 as a studio mechanic working on local TV and Feature Film productions. My role as the Lead Set Dresser is the acting supervisor for the swing gang set dressing crew.

As a Lead your are responsible for all pieces of set dressing being purchased, rented, ordered or bought. Managing a crew of 4-14 set dressers on a daily basis depending on our work load. I am also responsible for measuring and ordering various hardware, equipment and materials to complete projects.

The Lead set dresser is also acting manager of all set dressers throughout the entire production until all sets or taken down , inventoried and packaged for storage. We are the first crew in and the last ones to leave in most cases. We have to be very friendly and kind when filming on locations while dealing with home owners and or business owners.

I also have to budget man power and our purchasing throughout each production. Keeping a clean and very happy healthy work environment is something i like to keep on all work days.

I have had a job since the week after i turned 16. I started off at a grocery store Happy Foods in Chicago for two years. I then took a job at an electrical supply company for one year. I then had left there to work at Tile Outlet for nine years.

I started out as a stocker then once I finished High school i went full time as a sale person. In October of 2014 I had joined Local 476 in hopes for a better career. In October of 2015 Is when i had went full time with the union and have ever since had been working.
