My name is Jessica Shaughnessy and I am 37 years old. I am a mom of two boys 11 and 13, a student at Chico State and a Paraprofessional/ educator at heart. I have worked in the educational field for 21 years in a number of different compacities.
I started as an afterschool aid, moved into Preschool assistant, then preschool teacher, left to join early headstart and headstart for a while before transitioning back into preschool teaching and eventually made my way up to a director. After that I proceeded to move into the paraprofessional aid positions to allow myself to go back to school to attain my Bachelors and teaching degree. I have experience in both general education and special education in mild mod, mod severe and even extensive needs.
I love working along side students to not only discover who they are as learners but learn new things. Past employers have labeled me as a great team player, dedicated and hard working with go getter attitude and an abundance of knowledge. I speak with most of the families I have taught through out the years and most the parents will tell you that my love and compassion for my work and their children stands out about the rest.
