I have taught Special Education for 7 years in Oklahoma. I am also an artist. I have illustrated a children's book and have been involved in the community at Stillwater and Perkins, OK. I desire to teach children and adults in what ever they are needing to learn.
I have a bachelors degree in Art through Oklahoma State University. First of my generation to graduate there. I have a masters degree in Special Education Mild-Moderate pk-12. I have taught in Oklahoma for 7 years. I have made art projects throughout the years I have been in school and out of school from 2011-2025. Illustration with watercolor, acrylic painting, sculpting with clay, pottery, colored pencils, and alcohol markers have been my main mediums of self expression. I enjoy writing IEP's for my special education students. I have a desire to see the students grow and meet their goals. I hold high standards for my students.
Special Education has been the most relevant. I, myself, was a special education student. I have dealt with the trauma of being a special education student. I wanted so much to be like everyone else, to be “normal." Special Education has taught me something. We are helping children feel successful to make their goals and do well in their classes. I hope they all take every step with their heart and authenticity to be the best they can be, and not settle for being a label. I embrace having been in special education and have lived the struggles of these children. School was hard. I overcame it. I got two degrees in college. My parents never thought I could do that. I proved the naysayers wrong and overcame my challenges. I can see my students have the ability to do so as well. I see a little bit of myself in them. I know they are capable and can do it.
