Truck Driver transitioning to cyber security

I am a 43 yr old who has been driving a truck for the past 21 years. A little over a year ago I decided that it was time for a change in career paths. I enrolled at Trident Technical College to obtain my Associates in Applied Science for cybersecurity. From there, I am hoping to begin working in that field while continuing my education at Charleston Southern University.
Throughout my years of driving, I often found myself in management positions. Whether it be team leads, or as a driver trainer. This allowed me to maintain a constant communication with management and allowed me to assist in the decision making that was happening within the company.
While classroom education is important, nothing carries as much weight as real world experiences and knowledge. A lot of tasks need not only lessons learned in the classroom, but the common sense that we obtain throughout our lives.
