My Name is Jorge Carvajal. I am a full stack developer that loves building things for the web. I have a passion for good design and building web apps that can improve my community. Community projects I have worked on in the past: a web app for reporting potholes, another is a web app built around community fridges. I enjoy building with React, Svelte, Express.js and using appropriate databases systems like Mongo and Postgres.
I was a cook in the US Navy. This gave me the opportunity to travel the world and meet all walks of life. I also got to cook for and meet people like Buzz Aldrin and the crew of the Transformers 2. After I got out I received an education at Front Range Community College for Horticulture as I really love gardening.
I continued to work in the Food and Beverage Industry until after the pandemic I decided I would attend an information session for a programming boot camp where I instantly fell in love.
My experience showcases proficiency in a range of technologies, including CMS setup, SEO, frontend frameworks (Next.js, SvelteKit), backend development (Express), API integration (Twilio, Mapbox), database management (Postgres, AWS RDS), deployment (AWS EC2), authentication (Passport.js), and codebase maintenance. Additionally, you have demonstrated strong project management skills and the ability to work effectively in team settings.
I completed Operation Spark's coding bootcamp. Here I build a well rounded portfolio of javascript full stack web applications. I learned the fundamentals of functional javascript programming and tools to become an autonomous learner.
