Joshua Pile

Hello, My name is Joshua Pile. I am a junior attending Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute studying for a dual major in Computer Science and Cognitive Science. I am greatly interested in working with machine learning and artificial intelligence.

Currently, I am seeking a Summer 2024 internship that will expose me to both of these topics on a broader scale. I have experience in a multitude of different programming languages and have two prior internship experiences. During my internships, I have learned skills involving web scraping, creating and training different machine-learning models, and front-end development utilizing frameworks like Vue.js.

• Utilized Python with Pytorch, Hugging Face, and Llama 2 to implement ML technologies to the Radia Product to better personalize the user experience and organize data in the backend. This involved creating and training large image recognition and NLP models then effectively integrating them.
• Developed a plethora of web scraper applications employing libraries like Beatifulsoup, Selenium, and Scrappy to collect the most up-to-date data for the product.
• Streamlined product’s ability to match content to a user based off their activity with the usage of different API’s.
• Collaborated with a team to discuss how changes made to the product has affected user engagement as well as deciding what could be altered to improve the product UI and backend.
