I am a polished and energetic professional who passionately connects people with space + art. I am a creative force adeptly skilled in color theory and proxemics. My client interface is superior and work ethic solid.
It is always my goal to deliver projects on time and within budget while never losing my sense of humor or commitment to the ideals of the project. Additionally, my travels across four continents studying art, architecture and design in upwards of 20 countries makes my life and design sensibilities rich. 80 room hotel - Budgetel in KY (from the ground up) 1994-1995. Delivered all FF& E and complete interior color scheme during a non-paid internship.
Numerous residential & commercial projects as a junior designer at Design Alliance, INC 1995-2000 : the university ( Crisp Hall, President’s office and sorority house, historic downtown brewery, jewelry store, Italian restaurant, office space, retirement home, doctor’s office, etc in Cape Girardeau, MO
Part-time faculty - recruited to teach for the Interior Design Program at SEMO University : Dispay Design, Design Illustration, Creative & Critical Thinking courses 1995-1997.
Career Discovery ( tech prep ) teacher - 2004-2007 - Vicksburg, MS / Warren Central Junior High, 7 & 8th graders
Art teacher - 2007-2008 - Vicksburg, MS / Warren Central Intermediate, grades 3-6.
Feb 2009, organized my own freelance interior design consulting business, St. Louis MO. Various small consultations and a large meaningful project collab with The Army Corps of Engineers.
Project (VCP) was a pilot program to create laboratory spaces for disabled veterans learning how to work with federal archaeological collections. As the lead designer, I developed ADA layouts for these vets to transition from war to work. Everything from the logo to the color scheme and low VOC materials list - basically creating a blueprint for the lab to be replicated. It was and is still thriving in 5 locations across the U.S. to date.
