Lots of Practicum and Student Teaching experience, early childhood care experience.
I’m currently student teaching in a first-grade classroom, where I’m gaining hands-on experience in lesson planning, classroom management, and differentiated instruction. Throughout my teacher preparation program, I’ve completed practicum placements in three different district schools, working with Pre-K, third-grade, and fourth-grade students. This has given me a well-rounded understanding of student development across multiple grade levels and the opportunity to adapt my teaching strategies to different age groups and classroom environments.
In my current placement, I work closely with my mentor teacher to align lessons with grade-level standards in ELA, math, science, and social studies, often using interactive activities like games and hands-on tools to keep students engaged. I’m also focused on developing effective behavior support strategies, drawing from proactive classroom management techniques and culturally responsive practices to build motivation and positive relationships.
Through my coursework, I’ve been expanding my knowledge of instructional methods and educational research, while refining my academic writing and reflection skills. Right now, I’m working on a case study of a student with reading difficulties, conducting observations, and assessments, and making recommendations to support his learning. I’m excited to continue growing as an educator and preparing for my future in the education field after college.
I’m currently completing my teacher preparation program at Temple University, focusing on elementary education. Through this program, I’ve built a strong foundation in instructional strategies, classroom management, and student assessment.
