Perform and interpret high-complexity Blood Bank and Immunohematology testing using automated and manual methodologies.

• Perform ABO/Rh typing, antibody screening, complex antibody identification, extended RBC phenotyping, antigen typing, compatibility testing, and antigen-negative unit selection.
• Resolve complex serologic cases involving multiple antibodies, warm autoantibodies, cold agglutinins, positive DATs, elution studies, DTT treatment, and LISS testing.
• Perform electronic, immediate-spin, and AHG crossmatching; antibody titrations; obstetric titers; RhIG evaluations; fetal bleed screens; and maternal/neonatal compatibility testing.
• Investigate transfusion reactions and provide transfusion support for trauma, surgery, oncology, transplant, obstetric, neonatal, and critically ill patients.
• Prepare and modify blood components, including irradiation, cell washing, and aliquoting; support emergency blood release and Massive Transfusion Protocols.
• Serve as a lead technologist and technical resource, using independent judgment to troubleshoot operational issues and determine when escalation is appropriate.
• Mentor and train new employees, teach Medical Laboratory Science students, and evaluate staff competency with proficiency sign-off.
• Developed and performed validation for the Haemonetics ACP 215 automated cell-washing system; developed the associated SOP and trained staff on the process.
• Perform quality control, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, Veritas reporting for unacceptable specimens, and review/file emergency-release Transfusion Record Forms.
