I've been a practicing attorney for 11 years. Professionally, I am passionate about deescalating and resolving disputes and working complex problems. I achieve this by crafting clear and effective communications and strategies that produce mutually beneficial solutions.
I am currently a partner at Fornaro Law, a small firm in La Grange, Illinois, where I am the Director of Outside General Counsel Services. In that role, I advise middle-market clients on risk management, negotiations, and strategy. I also handle transactional matters and direct litigation strategy on behalf of clients. Internally, I manage several attorneys and staff, and am one of the firm's operations managers. I have been at Fornaro Law since December 2021.
Prior to joining Fornaro Law, I was a litigation attorney at Gould & Ratner in Chicago, Illinois from 2017 - 2021; an Assistant State's Attorney with the Cook County State's Attorney's Office from 2013 - 2017; and a litigation attorney at Sedgwick in Chicago, Illinois from 2012 - 2013.
Before I enrolled in law school, I was a Policy Analyst for congressional leadership offices in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington, D.C.
I earned my J.D. from Chicago-Kent College of Law in 2012. There, I was the CALI award recipient for my work in the school's highly respected intensive trial advocacy and legal writing programs, as well as the intensive complex and strategic problem solving program.
I earned my B.A. from Marquette University in 2005. My major was political science.
In 2022, I earned a certificate in Mergers & Acquisitions from Columbia Business School, through Columbia's University online program.
