I am a highly motivated newly graduate. I graduated top of my class, Magna Cum Laude from the University of Houston-Clear Lake. I am seeking a position aimed to help others reach their full potential. My bachelor degree double majors in psychology and sociology, with a minor in women and gender studies, as well as a concentration in urban and legal studies. I have made the Dean's List at both San Jacinto Community College and UHCL. I am a member of Phi Theta Kappa, San Jac's chapter of the National Honor Society. I was also awarded scholarships at UHCL. I received the Bill and Helen Crowder Scholarship as a first-generation foster care student and the Nan Bruckner Academic Scholarship for Women’s Studies.
At St. Joseph Medical Center, I work intake for the emergency psychiatric unit. Here I obtain patient vital signs, height and weight, and document the data in MediTech. While patients wait for a bed to open up on the psychiatric floor, we provide 1:1 observation and assessment in the Emergency Room for patients contemplating suicide or who may have homicidal ideations. It is our job as healthcare providers to report any breaches in confidentiality, violation of patient rights, or lack in quality of care accordingly.
At Butterfly Effects, we deliver ABA therapy services to children with Autism Spectrum Disorders and work to make social change within the family affected by autism. Butterfly Effects is home-based treatment, involving working directly with children and families in their natural environments to teach them to communicate, play, share, and supplement other skills with which they may struggle.
