Kathleen J Fleck

I help mission-driven organizations secure funding—more than $5M in awarded support over the past three years—by turning strong programs into clear, funder-aligned proposals that are persuasive, compliant, and easy to say “yes” to.

My work sits at the intersection of strategy and storytelling. I love immersing myself in an organization’s mission, impact, and challenges, then translating that into a compelling case for support—grounded in data, aligned with funder priorities, and written in a voice that still feels human.

What I’m known for

• Grant strategy + proposal writing
• Private/corporate foundations + federal/state/local grants
• Workplans, outcomes + evaluation measures
• Budgets aligned to the narrative
• Needs assessments + strategic messaging
• Post-award reporting + compliance

I maintain a success rate well above typical benchmarks by prioritizing fit over volume: targeted prospecting, funder-aligned positioning, and relationship-centered stewardship when applicable—often in collaboration with internal development teams.

I take this work seriously—because the missions are serious. If you want a grant partner who’s strategic, thorough, and easy to work with, let’s connect.
