I am a 4th-year undergraduate student at UCR majoring in Cell, Molecular, and
Developmental Biology. I plan to work on cellular and molecular biology related research projects in industry.
I completed a 10 week summer internship through the UCR RISE program. I learned how to culture Phytophthora infestans; extract lipids, RNA, and DNA; perform DNA/RNA analysis with Qubit 4; perform gel electrophoresis; and accurately use pipettes and centrifuges. I presented my findings with a poster presentation at the RISE/MARC Symposium on August 28, 2024. In addition, I wrote a research paper on my findings, which was reviewed by my postdoc and P.I. and sent to the NSF for review.
