I’m Lillian Hackett, a first-year Sophomore at Virginia Tech majoring in Management with the goal of building a career in the music industry. As a musician myself, I discovered my passion for the industry by experiencing both the creative and business sides firsthand.
I’ve accumulated 300,000+ streams, performed at venues and festivals across the country, and built a following of 20,000+ across social platforms. Managing my own music career through songwriting, recording, designing promotions, negotiating contracts, and budgeting showed me how much I enjoy the strategic and operational side of the industry. This inspired me to pursue Management while completing the Music Production, Technology, and Composition minor.
On campus, I’m actively involved in Collegiate Women in Business, Pamplin’s largest organization with 300+ members. I was selected for the Boston Fall Trek, where I met with professionals from Google, KPMG, IBM, and Fidelity, further strengthening my interest in leadership and professional growth.
I’m passionate about continuous learning and exploring opportunities that blend business, creativity, and the music world.
