Logan Curley

My name is Logan Curley, and I am graduating from West Chester University in May 2023 with a degree in Health and Physical Education. I am student teaching in Kennett School District, at an elementary school, and a high school. I also have a side job coaching baseball, and I volunteer coaching in the summer for my hometown legion program.

My professional experience has been teaching at the elementary and high school level for my student teaching. At the elementary level I was in the Kennett School District at Bancroft Elementary School. Here I taught both health and physical education to first through fifth grade students.

In physical education I planned and taught a hockey unit, and in health I taught various different lessons to each grade. For the high school I am also in Kennett School District at Kennett High School. Here I am teaching 9th grade health, and 9th grade physical education.

I will be teaching a unit on first aid and CPR for health. In physical education I will be teaching different games and sports to get the students moving and active.

My most relevant education was at West Chester University where we took different classes to give us experience and knowledge to become a quality teacher. Some of the classes we took were geared towards getting experience in urban schools, getting experience at each grade level, learning to make lesson plans, learning to make unit plans, and learning different skills for the classroom. These classes were able to help us learn from experience at different schools.

Getting this experience helped make us more comfortable in the classroom and get to teach lessons to kids in actual schools.
