Marcela Aguilar

My name is Marcela Aguilar and I am a civil industrial engineer, wife, and mother of 2 wonderful children. In 2017, for my husband's work reasons, we moved to the USA. I like contact with people and I enjoy helping others.

As a philosophy of life, I believe that maintaining a positive mind and relationships can help you achieve goals and be happier. I like to cook and dance, which is why I try to practice Zumba periodically and learn new recipes to enjoy with the people I love. I deeply love my family, my country, and my new home, and I would like to contribute here, teaching has always motivated me, but I believe that my experience as an immigrant can enrich my work since I know the difficulties of adapting to a new country, and while it provides wonderful new opportunities, sometimes children need time and love to help them adjust to new experiences.

Most of my work experience has been in Education, as a teacher part of my job was to diagnose student’s level of knowledge at the beginning of the course, plan activities based on the student's present, and prepare and review tests. As a course coordinator, I’ve worked on the sales process, preparation and delivery of study material for each student, teacher selection, and coordination between establishment and teacher.

I have studied engineering as part of my academic training in addition to having a general sense of other engineering disciplines such as mechanical, civil, and mining branches through courses in thermodynamics, solid mechanics, mining economics, and others. My school is characterized by having a solid mathematical foundation, which is why I also have a bachelor's degree in engineering sciences.
