About

Senior level organic chemist in Global Medicinal Chemistry (GMeC) with over 30 years' experience in the synthesis of biologically active natural and non-natural products. Presently, research duties involve creating, improving, and applying synthetic organic methods to produce essential pre-clinical intermediates and APIs in quantities ranging from milligrams to hundreds of grams. As the chemistry lead within the Centralized Organic Synthesis Group (COSG), key responsibilities encompassed partnering with medicinal chemistry teams to reach pre-clinical objectives; collaborating with process chemistry teams to develop scalable synthetic methodologies for early-stage, kilogram-scale development projects, and managing the productivity, goal-setting and skills training of up to 3 junior staff and 12 CRO chemists.

These initiatives have covered therapeutic fields such as neuroscience (including pain and Parkinson's disease), oncology, and immunology. Before 2013, I functioned as a medicinal chemist developing lead compounds for neuroscience (pain), urology (erectile dysfunction), and antiviral (HCV) projects.
