Matt “MrMatt” Mata

I am an artist that focuses on digital media. It is both my hobby and my career, about two years so far. If I am not writing up a lesson plan, I'm drawing cartoons. I shift from medium to medium, switching from modeling characters in 3D, to writing a story in Twine. My passion for creating never left ever since I got that spark in high school after reading how-to-draw books and a good few self-help. I hope to inspire students through my passion and skillset.

My skillset is: 2D Art, 3D Modeling, Photography, 2D/3D animation, Video Editing, Creative Writing, Unity, basic code, and art history.

I have taught a year of graduate school, and a semester as a faculty adjunct at CLC. With several years as a graduate assistant at NIU. I am currently doing a pilot study with a small group of five students.

I graduated with a Master Of Fine Arts degree from Northern Illinois University in May 2024 with a 3.9 GPA. I have a vast skillset that I still utilize every day for my projects as well as figuring out new ways to plan courses.
