Melina Shadman

My name is Melina. I am a first-year PharmD student with a strong interest in the pharmaceutical industry, particularly Global Medical Affairs. I served as the Medical Affairs Team Lead for the IPhO VIP Case Competition and as the Chair Elect for the Social Media & Marketing Committee within SASP, where I’m preparing to take on full leadership next year.

Outside of school, I’m also a content creator, using my platform to share my pharmacy journey and connect with others interested in healthcare. I’m currently seeking a summer internship in the pharmaceutical industry to gain hands-on experience, develop cross-functional skills, and contribute meaningfully to a medical affairs team.

With a foundation in pharmacy education and a passion for the pharmaceutical industry, I’ve cultivated hands-on leadership and strategic communication skills through academic and organizational involvement. My experience includes leading cross-functional team efforts in medical affairs strategy and supporting digital outreach initiatives. I bring a proactive mindset, adaptability, and a strong interest in industry innovation — currently seeking a summer internship to apply and expand these skills in a real-world pharmaceutical setting.

I am currently pursuing a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree at the University at Buffalo, where I am building a strong foundation in clinical knowledge, pharmaceutical sciences, and patient care. My coursework, combined with active involvement in professional organizations, has helped me develop key competencies in drug information, communication, and evidence-based decision-making — all of which align with my interest in Medical Affairs and the pharmaceutical industry.
