Having worked on this particular flight simulator ten years ago, for over seventeen years, I'm very familiar with this piece of equipment. Miss the training environment as well as the pace of work that is required. In the past was called on to perform all of the required tests for the biannual SimCert along with the quarterly testing to provide the PO/QAR with the complete functionality of the device.
For the past ten years I have worked for Metro Transit in the Light Rail Signals Department on Train to Wayside equipment, grade crossing equipment, switches (electro-mechanical and electro-hydraulic), and AC and RF track circuits for Train detection. Was promoted to second shift foreman in October 2021.
Seventeen years on C-130-E/H/H 2.5 full motion flight simulator on the Minnesota Air National Guard base. Have been a Simulator Technician II initially hiring on with Hughes Training, Raytheon, Reflectone, BAE Systems, and CAE USA.
Metro Transit provides continuing education of systems being used along with contractor provided training on new equipment being introduced to replace older systems.
No continued education in flight simulation due to lack of courses/training locations.
