I hold dual board certification in Internal Medicine and Nephrology in the United States, as well as an MSc in Surgical Skills and Sciences from the University of London. My training began with an MBBS at Dow Medical College, followed by surgical training in the UK, Internal Medicine residency at St Joseph’s Hospital Chicago and a nephrology fellowship at George Washington University Hospital in Washington, DC. Over the past eight years, I have practiced nephrology in both community and academic settings, including my current roles with Nephrology Associates of Kentuckiana and Means Adult Primary Care Clinic in Kentucky.
These experiences have allowed me to develop expertise in dialysis (hemodialysis, peritoneal, and home modalities), advanced CKD care, hypertension, transplant, and the intersection of nephrology and critical care. My background in cardiothoracic surgery, with Specialist registrar work at St. Bartholomew’s and The Royal London Hospital, has further enhanced my approach to ICU and perioperative care.
In addition to my clinical responsibilities, I have consistently taken on leadership and teaching roles.
President at St.
Hospital in Mt. Sterling, KY (2020–2022), Current Chief of Staff, I contributed to the development of hospital-wide protocols for early sepsis and stroke recognition. I have also been actively involved in teaching and mentoring nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and medical students since 2017. These experiences have reinforced my commitment to academic medicine and medical education.
My academic interests include research on dialysis practices, transplant complications, and surgical outcomes. I have contributed to peer-reviewed publications and presented them at international conferences. My MSc thesis on venous access in cystic fibrosis patients was among the first of its kind, reflecting my dedication to advancing patient care through research and innovation.
I am particularly interested in furthering research and quality initiatives in dialysis optimization, hypertension management in CKD, and the interface of nephrology and critical care.
