With over a dozen years of experience as a writer, director, post production coordinator, AD, actor, interpreter and translator in the Chinese film industry, as well as two years of experience studying and working at UCLA's elite TFT program, I am well traveled in the international filmmaking scene and have been exposed to hundreds of styles of cinematic storytelling. I have worked with industry professionals in every position possible on a pre-production, post production, film set, film festivals and everything in between, as well as production crews from every tier of professionalism in China, from the tiny student films to the “cut, good-enough” TV soaps, to multiple large-scale multi-billion dollar blockbuster theatrical releases. In addition, my teaching experience in China spans years of acting programs for all ages, as well as college-level public speaking and oral ESL.
