I am in recovery, and I love to help others on their journey into a happier, healtier life. Also, I'd like to pursue commercial archaeology and actually speak a little bit of Nahuatl (Aztec).
I've worked in both drug/opiate courts assisting clients with their criminal justice problems. I've also assisted clients get into methadone programs, get into inpatient rehab as well as outpatient rehab. I'm helped clients get emergency food stamps and help them apply for Social Security Disability. I've helped client's study for their GED through a free website that provides a similar service.
I've helped clients apply for Access-VR, which is a program in NYS that provides funding for those with substance use disorder or mental issues to receive funding to get job re-training or education. I've helped clients apply for their Arts Access Pass, which allows the holder to attend plays, concerts, and other such things free of charge (this was an attempt to boost their social life).
I've assisted clients by helping them create their resumes and then subsequently apply for jobs. I am also available to clients to attend NA/AA/SMART/SOS meetings with them, as well as accompany them to DSS to navigate that quagmire (I've done this one several occasions).
Certified Recovery Peer Advocate training and my three years of university.
