My name is Nicole Asiryan, and I am currently a senior at Harvard College. I am double-majoring in Human Developmental and Regenerative Biology and Slavic Languages and Literatures on the premedical track. Since 2022, I have conducted research in the Molecular Biology department at Massachusetts General Hospital.
There, I investigate the potential of various small molecules to treat Rett syndrome in mice. I conduct behavioral tests, data analysis, and wet work, including western blots, RT-qPCRs, RNA-seqs, and immunofluorescence. I perform ICV and IP injections, and I suture incisions in mice.
I also proofread scientific writings and discuss new research papers. This work was the foundation of my senior thesis, which I completed in March.
