I started out my counseling career working with female, male, LGTBQ Domestic Violence Groups in the heart of Chicago's gang and underprivileged areas. I expanded my group therapy skills to adult Anger Management, Stress Management, and IOP groups. I also gained more experience and knowledge at a Chicago Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT facility) working with the opioid addiction population.
Afterwards, I spent 5 years working in correctional mental health toward those with severe mental illness (SMI), crisis, and high risk suicides. I was given the opportunity to work with Bexar County Sherriff and San Antonio Police as a Crisis Response Clinician to 911 mental health calls connected to adult and child mental health disorders that are dispatched by the police department.
I am a mental health and addictions counselor with cultural competence and Treatment success who is interested to join a dynamic team that shares a dual Focus toward excellence and commitment to providing quality services and outstanding organizational outcomes.
