Pedro Ramirez

I am a Mechanical Engineering major at California State University Long Beach (CSULB) and plan on graduating in May 2024. My passion for the defense industry has given me the lifelong goal of working for a company that helps serve and protect the men and women who do the same for our country. I’m currently a member of the CSULB Baja SAE team and will be the Rear Suspension Lead for the 2023-2024 school year.

Through this club and internship experience within engineering I have gained experience in Solidworks, Lotus Shark, 3D Printing, Testing, Report Writing and more. Glaukos

Worked with Glaukos senior R&D engineers to develop new test methods and write work instructions for testing retinal injector components using an Instron Tensile Tester

• Utilized the component work instruction to perform a series of tests, analyze the data, and presented to senior R&D team managers including VP of department
• Worked with R&D engineers to develop understanding of Glaukos’s injector manufacturing line to ensure proper placement of equipment in the clean room
• Learned medical device and pharmaceutical manufacturing methods and processes
• Designed fixtures to assist in the cleaning process of final Glaukos Injector components
• Designed glasses to mimic effects of Keratoconus disease to assist physicians during patient interactions

CSULB BAJA SAE

• Researched and Designed multiple suspension types
• Working on documenting work in order to assist new members
• Communicated with companies to select products which met requirements
• Appointed Rear Suspension Lead for 2023-2024 School Year
