Pia Snellman

Pia is a Scripps College sophomore from Madison, Wisconsin, pursuing a self-designed major in social food and agriculture studies. In her free time, she enjoys reading, learning other languages, and making jam from the fruit she has harvested on campus.

Scripps Events Office Assistant, Scripps College, Claremont, CA, September 2023– present

• Prepare venues for campus speaker events
• Create social media posts for Instagram, Facebook/Meta, TikTok, and Pinterest
• Advertise upcoming events on campus
• Construct and organize a monthly schedule 
• Introduce event speakers (Lauren Bush Lauren, CEO and co-founder of FEED, November 2023)

• Co-led week-long garden camp sessions made up of 20 middle school students. 
• Collaborated with program leaders to organize and facilitate activities. 
• Taught students how to plant seeds, care for chickens, and harvest crops. 

• Managed sales/returns at the cash register after learning to operate the store’s software programs. 
• Adapted during busy hours to better handle changing workplace conditions and difficult customers.
