Rachel Blitz

Holding a Bachelors in both Elementary Education and Special Education, I have a variety of experience with my current and past experiences as a certified teacher currently. My most current teaching experience includes teaching K-6th grade technology, where I created and developed a school wide curriculum for both upper and lower school grades. I also created and wrote an elective course of digital story-telling class that was sponsored by Apple, in which I taught 6th-8th grade students weekly a course that encompassed story-telling elements and final cut pro software.

Both my current experiences of teaching K-6th grade students within a wide variety of grade levels, my past experience of teaching 3rd grade at a title 1 public school and a combo gifted 2nd-3rd grade level class, have given me the skill sets to teach in diverse learning environments and be effective within maintaining high engagement. Ultimately this has given me the strategies to teach all types of learners and provide them with a high quality education.

My professional experience includes teaching 3rd grade at a title 1 school that was titled as an A+ school and earned the title as a Professional Learning Community School while I was teaching there. Here I implemented RTI approaches for ELA & Math weekly. I have the skills set to effectively collect, organize and drive data to meet the needs of all learners.

The following year I taught 5th grade ELA and a Global Studies class. My third year included teaching a 2nd-3rd grade combo class where I altered & adjusted curriculum to effectively implement the model of homogenous and heterogenous grouping of two grade levels. My fourth year teaching included teaching 3rd grade Distance Learning due to Covid.

Here even digitally I was able to adjust and adapt the curriculum to personalize and enrich instruction to ensure student growth & progress. Currently I am the K-6 grade technology teacher at my school and grade level department chair where I wrote and created the school wide K-6 Grade technology curriculum. I also co-created a Da-Vinci elective course for 6th-8th grade student that emphasized the components of digital story-telling and using Final Cut software.

This is also supported by Apple and has been a program running at my current school for the past 2 years since I have co-created it.

My most relevant education includes receiving two bachelors from Arizona State University. I hold a bachelors in Elementary Education & Special Education. In 2020, I received my Cross-Cultural Academic Language Development certificate to teach ELL learners. I currently hold a clear multiple subject credential with CLAD certified.
