As a hospital volunteer in the oncology department, I work a three hour shift every Sunday. During my shift, I often make rounds and ask they patients if they need anything such as a warm blanket and water if permitted by the nurses. In addition to that, I also answer phone calls, send out emails to families, and transport lab specimens to the labs when the nurses tell me to do so.
Lastly, I discharge patients from the oncology unit a wheelchair them out of the hospital for their families to pick them up.
