I am an urban planner with over four years of professional experience in land use and transportation planning, and robust skills in research, data analysis, writing, and public participation. In addition to planning skills and experience, I bring a broad set of project management and communication skills honed through my past work in the international marketing and solar industries. My objective as an urban planner is to develop plans that meet community needs and advance sustainability and social equity.
My background is in transportation and comprehensive planning. My past work includes my role as Transportation Planner II at Walker Consultants, where I led transportation and parking analyses for municipalities, developers, and universities. In my role as Project Planner at PlaceWorks, I supported long range plans (general plans and climate action plans) through analysis of emissions and activity data, policy writing, GHG reduction strategy development, and community engagement.
My favorite mode of transportation is a bicycle, and outside of work you will find me biking, gardening, hiking a mountain, or traveling the world.
As a graduate of an international studies Bachelor's Degree program, I look to global cities that demonstrate leadership in equitable, efficient, and resilient transportation systems, such as Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Barcelona, Vancouver, and Singapore as my wellspring of inspiration.
I have a Master's Degree in Urban and Regional Planning (MURP) from the University of California, Irvine and I am currently pursuing my AICP certification (American Institute of Certified Planners).
My masters capstone project focused on active transportation safety in Long Beach, CA, analyzing collisions involving pedestrians and cyclists along corridors with cycletracks or protected bicycle lanes. This capstone project was awarded an APA Award of Merit in Orange County (2020).
