Richard Butler

After having spent several years working in Healthcare Security, to include management and administrative roles, I now wish to transition into a career in providing mental health services for the community. Having obtained certification in Crisis Intervention (and put those skills to use on a daily basis while working in hospitals), I have a passion for helping others on the worst of days.

I plan to return to pursue an Addictions Certification in the fall of 2025 with the coursework counting towards licensure requirements for LADAC I as well as towards a Bachelors in Psychology, with an eye for eventually providing treatment to first responders, healthcare workers, and veterans.

In the meantime, I am seeking employment in a Behavioral Health environment, both to further my knowledge of the field as well as to satisfy my desire to serve. While without clinical certifications and licensure at this early juncture of this career path, I bring extensive experience in administrative and healthcare settings which may lend themselves to success within ancillary support roles.

Responsible for staging and loading materials into manufacturing equipment used in the production of home air filtration as well as finalization of finished product for shipment to customer distribution centers

 

Major of Operations and Investigations, Covenant Health Security

Initially served as a frontline security officer maintaining safety and responding to duress incidents at Methodist Medical Center; Promoted in 2021 to Sergeant, overseeing one shift of officers; Promoted to Lieutenant in 2022, responsible for all security operations at Parkwest Medical Center; Promoted to Captain then subsequently to Major in 2023 where responsibilities included managing the Workplace Violence database, conducting metrics capturing and analytics, developing and implementing mitigation strategies, drafting correspondence for the Director of Security Operations, conducting daily Q&RA compliance checks of all Security incidents to ensure adherence to HIPAA, EMTALA, and company policies, and providing leadership and management to approximately 120 officers

Site Supervisor, Security Engineers INC (Knox Area Rescue Ministries)

Assigned as the Site Security Supervisor providing services to client Knox Area Rescue Ministries; Provided deterrence and response to criminal and disruptive activity, conducted presence patrols; responded to medical emergencies; engaged in de-escalation of guest conflict; Managed a team of three additional officers

Managed warehousing, shipping, and receiving operations for an in-house apparel production e-commerce retailer. Led a team of approximately 10-15 employees responsible for stock, pick/pack, and shipping operations, conducting approximately 800-1,000 daily customer shipments. Maintained shipping records, conducted routine cost analysis, and advised management regarding shipping matters

Served as a Chemical Operations Specialist, responsible to the detection and decontamination of Nuclear, Chemical, and Biological contaminants (2001-2004); Served as a Military Police Officer while deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, conducting detainee operations, providing personal security details, and participating in convoy escort operations (2004-2005); Assigned as the Administrative Assistant to the Deputy Regional Director of Military Funeral Honors, maintaining accounting and training records, coordinating personnel for Funeral Honors, and serving as a liaison to assist families in connecting to veteran entitlement resources (2005-2007)
