Hello! I am Rishabh Gowda, a Global and Community Health B.S major. I have a strong passion for public health, mentorship and education, and I am hoping to gain valuable healthcare experience that will help me in my journey to attending medical school and becoming a health care professional.

Chapter Co-President at American Lung Cancer Screening Initiative (Present)

Co-president of ALCSI chapter at UCSC, spreading awareness about lung cancer and connecting eligible individuals to get screened through direct community interaction

Chapter Vice president - Ensure relationship with the student organization office is maintained and overlook other board positions

• Pre-medical Coordinator: Works to organize pre-medical workshops and seek out mentors to help members in pre-health. Build relationships with other pre-health organizations and companies to increase support
• Planned and executed the first annual "Pre-Health Olympics" event

A volunteer tutor working at a local school to tutor K-12 students in math and STEM twice a week

Stationed at Vivekananda Girija Tribal Health Care Center in B.R Hills, Karnataka working alongside medical officers to serve Soligas Tribal population

• Helping with implementing health infographics to promote health education and translating English posters into Kannada to promote proper waste disposal for patients

Public Health Intern at Public Health Organization - India (2024-06 – 2024-08)

Worked with a public health professional in India and a team of PhD students in studying antimicrobial resistance in India

• Worked with community health workers on-site to produce health infographics to educate rural community health workers and rural citizens to combat antimicrobial resistance by preventing the spread of infectious diseases
• Assessed TB outcomes and TB literature review in India and around the world

450+ hours in junior year summer at Chapman Marine Invertebrate Biology Lab with Dr. William Wright

• Researching Hermit Crab behavior, to understand their response to predator signals via chemical signaling. "The ecology of fear"
