Growing up in Boston, my family didn't have access to a lot of wealth. There were plenty of times when we didn't have heating or money for food. We struggled throughout our entire time in Boston, Massachusetts. As I got older, I wanted to make sure that not only I, but also the people around me, wouldn't have to go through a similar journey. I read books to educate myself on the importance of financial well-being; how connecting with people with diverse backgrounds is essential to building a better me, and how communication is a fundamental part of life. Moving to Virginia gave me the opportunity to do what I loved. I've learned more about what I'm passionate about, and that's helping and connecting people together.
I began my career in Burlington in 2021 and quickly became a Customer Service Supervisor. Following an unsafe incident involving the District Manager, I resigned in early 2023.
Seeking to educate my community on financial literacy, I joined Financial Growth Partners soon after but left in January 2024 due to its cost-prohibitive approach. In July 2023, while still with Financial Growth Partners, I accepted a role with Inproduction. Despite promises of promotion, delays and dissatisfaction led me to conclude it wasn't the right fit.
In April 2024, I took a contract position as a Data Entry Analyst with the Department of Taxation, aiming to help my community. With the contract ending soon, I am exploring new opportunities to continue my community support efforts.
