Ronald Gehr

My name is Ronald A. Gehr, I am a native Spanish speaker who moved to the US with my family from Colombia, when I was 5 years old. I have had the pleasure of working with the Hispanic community throughout my career.

Chiefly as a surety bond underwriter and helping contractors in obtaining bonds to bid for contruction projects, selling translation hardware and software components to companies in South America, and most recently helping Hispanic folks starting up businesses in a variety of fields. I would refer myself as a dedicated coach who will always opportunities that can help in assisting towards the growth and vitality of the Hispanic community.

I have been involved in Sales (both services and the sale of products) since the very beginning of my career. My experience has included (19) years of Surety Bond Underwriting, (10) years of International Sales, (5) years of Retail Sales and Merchandising, and (4) Months of being a Career Coach (Business Development Coordinator) helping Hispanics who wanted to either start up a business, or an established business that was wanting to grow or enhance their businesses. Being able to use my bilingual skills have been a mainstay / requirement throughout my working life.

My Bachelor's degree was in Communication Studies. If I was to narrow down what skills it taught me, and how I have used them in my career, I would include the following: mass media communications, technical communiocation and writing, advertising, a love for public speaking, how to research and analyze information and how to clearly and cogently communicate topics through writing and speaking, it has taught me to crafting messages, understanding audiences, working with new technologies and falling back on key communication theories.
