Ever since I was a little boy, I always had an obsession of picking apart certain objects or toys around me. Whether it be the alarm clock on my bedside table, or the zipper of my jacket, I always strived to find out how things functioned and why. As I grew older, and eventually started to get into trouble for breaking things, I turned to something that I still can’t figure out; the human body.
Starting at my first biology class in 7th grade, I have dedicated my academic career to trying to understand the human body more and why it does what it does. Through my 4+ years of experience tutoring about the subject coupled with 2+ years of scientific laboratory work, I have struggled day after day to try and understand everything that the body is doing to keep me alive.
However, it is this struggle in particular which keeps me so interested in the mystery that is the human body and is the main reason why I am currently pursuing a B.S. in Cell and Molecular Biology at Baylor University. After achieving my degree I hope to later get into the pharmaceutical business or other fields that relate to epidemiology in order to further my joy of the human body in a way that can improve peoples’ lives.
When I am not studying the cellular workings of life, you will usually find me outside either camping, rock climbing, or going to a drive-in movie with my friends. In addition, I love giving back to the community around me through volunteer tutoring organizations focused on helping refugees in need.
So, if you are looking for someone who is hard-working, enjoys problem-solving and has dedicated their life to researching and solving the mysteries behind the human body, don’t hesitate to contact me!
I have 2+ years of laboratory experience in an academic setting working with various techniques such as cell cultures, data analysis, and chemical synthesis.
I am currently pursuing a Bachelors of Science in Cell and Molecular Biology at Baylor University.
