Sarah Teske graduated with honors (summa cum laude) from Scripps College in 2024 with a BA in art and psychology. She was awarded the Lucia Suffel Crafts Award for her senior thesis gallery exhibition, Her Monstrous Body. Drawing on her background in psychology, Sarah creates ceramic sculptures that explore themes of femininity, monstrosity, horror, and fantasy. She shares her passion for art by teaching classes that guide students in handbuilding, wheel throwing and glazing.
With a background in art instruction and child care, I have gained extensive experience working with children and adults in various creative and educational settings. As a Summer Camp Pottery Assistant at Halo Pottery, I taught handbuilding, wheel throwing, and glazing techniques to children while maintaining a fun and inclusive environment.
Mine, I led pottery-painting workshops, provided excellent customer service, and managed various studio tasks including cleaning, packaging finished pieces, and handling transactions. Most recently, I served as a Wheel Throwing Instructor at The Art Beat, where I taught both children and adult classes in which I demonstrated and assisted students with wheel throwing techniques. Throughout my work, I have consistently demonstrated strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills, creating enjoyable and educational experiences for my students.
I graduated summa cum laude from Scripps College in 2024 with a bachelor's degree in art and psychology.
