Sean Rich

I am currently a student at Virginia Tech pursuing a Bachelors of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering in the class of 2025. I'm a hands-on learner with a great interest in mechanical system design. My passion for engineering stems from my extensive experience in the automotive world, and my constant desire to push the limits of innovation.

I've had two industry level internships, one focused on manufacturing engineering with Lockheed Martin, and the other on rapid prototyping and design with Aerovironment MacCready Works. Both of these experiences allowed me to gain a unique perspective on how industry level engineering work is done from idea to final product, and validate my passion for the engineering profession. I also have held leadership positions within the Santa Barbara City College Robotics and Computer Science club as project manager, and am currently the Chief engineer of my Aerospace Senior Design team at Virginia Tech.

My most recent education is at Virginia Tech where I am currently pursuing a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering with a focus on structures and materials. I have made Dean's list for the past three consecutive years with a current GPA of 3.61, and my expected graduation date is May 2025.
