I am a senior engineer with 12 years of experience ranging from mechanical, electronic, and (mostly lately, 8 years) software design. In general I am an expert product developer but due to the market forces in the last decade I have migrated primarily to embedded software development. My graduate studies were heavily focused on machine learning, specifically toward the end of classification of biological signals, using a wide variety of machine learning algorithms, and resulted in a graduate thesis on the topic of novel training techniques for a special type of artificial neural network.
I have been interested in education for some time and have pursued this interest by mentoring fellow students in university and colleagues. During graduate school I taught a supplementary mechanics course which I found to be very rewarding and I would like to continue to pursue this passion by serving students in Alameda County.
