Shaunnette Jack

I am a CNA for over 20 years who is currently between jobs and in school to acquire my associate's degree in healthcare studies. I am a mother to five children who is trying to be an example to them to never quit and be the best role model that I can be for anyone who knows me and the struggles that i have overcome and continue to work through with the brightest smile on my face. I take whatever opportunity I am given to make things better for myself and my family because when you want better you have to do better.

As a Certified Nursing Assistant, I have been a caretaker for up to 22 patients at a time, where I have fed, showered, groomed, bathed, ambulated, entertained, consoled, been a companion, and have done documentation on them for the duration of anywhere between 8-to-16-hour shift. I have communicated with the nurses that have been my coworkers the needs of residents that are beyond my scope of practice and assisted them in any way that was needed and asked of me by them to the best of my ability. I have also trained other CNAs when asked to do so.

I am currently a student at Suffolk County Community College working toward gaining my associate's degree in healthcare studies at the moment. I am maintaining a 3.6 GPA and am on the Honor Society of Phi Theta Kappa.
