Shelby Dickson

I am a recent graduate from BYU with a degree in Theatre Arts Studies, emphasizing in Dramaturgy, and a minor in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages). I currently work as a Direct Support Professional at Rise Services in Orem, where I support individuals with disabilities and assist them in participating in community activities.

I am seeking a part-time evening position and would love the opportunity to combine my passion for the arts with my desire to serve others. Theater has had a meaningful impact on my life, and I hope to help others develop a similar appreciation for the performing arts through my work.

Direct Support Professional at Rise Services (2026-04 – Present)

• Supported 2-3 adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities during daily program activities, promoting independence, social engagement, and personal growth.
• Facilitated about 5 recreational, educational, and community-based activities each week, helping participants develop life skills and build confidence.
• Assisted 2-3 daily clients with personal care, medications, mobility, and daily living tasks while maintaining dignity, safety, and individualized support plans.

Walt Disney World Cast Member at Walt Disney World (2025-02 – 2025-08)

• Served 300+ guests per shift at a high-volume quick food service location, delivering efficient and friendly customer service in a fast-paced environment.
• Processed 100+ food and beverage and merchandise transactions daily using point of sale systems, ensuring accurate orders, and cash handling.
• Resolved guest concerns quickly and special request professionally, creating positive experiences that aligned with Disney's quality, safety, and presentation standards.

Line-Worker & Dish-room Worker at Missionary Training Center Cafeteria (2021-07 – 2023-08)

• Served 500+ missionaries per shift in a high-volume cafeteria environment, ensuring efficient meal distribution and positive missionary service.

• Taught an average of 16+ individuals and families each week on how to enrich their lives through personal application and study.
• Provided 40+ hours of weekly community service assisting individuals and families while building strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
