I have worked as an accounting specialist for Mount Sinai Hospital for five years; I primarily work on radio oncology claims. I am in charge of monitoring and processing the payments from various insurances, submitting claims, following up on all the denied and rejected claims, and claims that I rebill, also following up on the claims that I appeal and maintain, and performing a lot of calculation to find out whether or not our claims are paid at the contracted rate, and process refunds.

I report trends and problems that are out of my control to management, and I also correct the coding on the claims. I enjoy medical coding is a career where I want to grow professionally.
