Hi! My name is Sofie and I am 20 years old. I moved to Oahu at the beginning of April this year and am looking for a part time or full time job.
I am a self-motivated, reliable, responsible, passionate, and hardworking person who works well in team environments as well as using my own initiative. I am great with people of all ages and backgrounds, and provide excellent customer service.
In 2021, I graduated high school in Massachusetts and got my EMT certification and license and worked as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) for several months in Boston. I then went on to travel solo for 5 months, visiting Thailand, Indonesia, Australia, Fiji, and Hawaii. I started college at San Diego State University in the fall of 2022, but decided it was not for me and moved to Hawaii instead!
I recently worked at San Lorenzo Bikinis in Waikiki, doing sales and inventory. I am a fast learner and pick up new skills quickly. I love learning new things and am passionate in everything I do. I work well in high - pressure situations and am always looking to better myself and others around me.
In my free time I enjoy surfing, reading, writing, working out, and hanging out with friends.
Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) - Certified and licensed by the age 18 and worked 4 months with Fallon Ambulance Service in Boston, Massachusetts. I started on a transfer truck doing interfaculty transfers, mostly taking patients to and from doctors appointments and hospitals to nursing homes. I then moved into 911 calls, responding to emergencies and providing on scene care to victims. I maintained airways, oxygen levels, and respiratory and cardiac health throughout transport to the hospitals. I communicated with dispatch and many hospitals over a variety of radios and also drove the ambulance though the city of Boston daily. I cared for each and every patient and made sure they were in the best hands of care.
San Lorenzo Bikinis Waikiki - I worked in sales at the shop and inventory at the office for 1 month. I welcomed customers into the store and helped people find their style and navigate what they wanted. I made sure each customer left the store happy with their experience and purchase, and most came back to shop some more or even just say hello!
Golf and Tennis Pro Shop - I was a store manager for 3 summers in South Dartmouth, Massachusetts. I was in charge of opening and closing the shop, organizing and displaying inventory, creating and setting up signs and visuals, making sales, and handling the cash register. I engaged with families and athletes and got to know everyone on a more personal level.
After high school I took a gap year before attending San Diego State University (2022-2023). I majored in Biology on the pre-medical track and took courses such as public speaking and analytical writing, for a well-rounded education. I decided to go a different route in the second semester of my freshman year and have been studying medicine on my own since I moved out to Hawaii. I plan to continue school online in the future, but would like to get some work experience first in different settings.
