Sophia Sansone

My name is Sophia Sansone, I am a junior studying Biological Engineering. I also am pursuing a concentration in Food and Biological Processes. I am an active member of Chi Omega here at Purdue University and have served in two leadership positions in my time here. I also work with the Women in Engineering Mentors and Mentees.

Purdue Dining and Culinary – Student Associate January 2023- Present

• Organized the ingredients for the upcoming meal to prepare for the next mealtimes.
• Familiarized myself with all preparations to open and refill the product.
• Responsible for memorizing the menu each shift and learned to work with many different personalities.
• Gained experience working in a fast-paced environment and staying positive in stressful situations.

• Achieved CPR, AED, First Aid, and Lifeguarding certification.
• Developed connections with neurodivergent and terminally ill children to help them feel comfortable in the pool.
• Communicated with my teammates and staff to ensure the safety of all children and preparation for incidents,
• Achieved an end-of-the-year bonus for exceeding expectations and perfect attendance.

I am currently a junior studying Biological Engineering with a focus on food and biological processes. My most relevant coursework and skills include Excel, MATLAB, Word, PowerPoint, Python, Microsoft Teams, Thermodynamics, Partial and Differential Equations, Linear Algebra and Differential Equations, Organic Chemistry, Physics.
