Steven Vital

I am a current kitchen manager with a background in Civil Engineering currently on the JATC Area 1 ready for hire list. I finished my degree in Civil Engineering in 2022 but decided not to enter into the field because I enjoy working with my hands. After my time in the kitchen I decided on this new career path as it would utilize some of my previous knowledge in Civil Engineering while allowing me to learn something new and continue working with my hands.

Kitchen Manager at Thirsty Sasquatch (2021-09 – Present)

• I started as a line cook and moved my way up to the kitchen manager position as I had proven my reliability, work ethic, and problem solving.
• After becoming manager I have been able to improve our methods and training, having been able to improve output and quality and nearly doubling our sales over time.
• Skilled in both administration and working on the line.

Packaging and Grow Operations at Fairwinds Manufacturing (2019-02 – 2020-04)

• Packaging duties include all levels of packaging from filling containers with bulk stock, to sealing, to labeling, and client order fulfillment.
• Responsible for operating labeling machines, heat tunnel sealer, and medical grade pumps.
• Grow operations included harvesting, full sterilization of grow facilities, keeping track of plant health, and setting up new grows.

Engraving Setup at Branding Tools (2018-05 – 2019-02)

• Duties include setting up engraving proofs based on client instructions to send out for approval and responding to client feedback.

Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering – Portland State University (2022-06)
