I am Tania Paz, a driven and compassionate individual with a strong passion for healthcare. At the age of 23, I am currently a college student completing my pre-requisites to pursue my dream of becoming a nurse.
Throughout my academic journey, I have excelled in challenging courses such as anatomy and medical terminology, providing me with a solid understanding of the human body and medical terminology. Armed with this knowledge, I am confident in my ability to excel in nursing school and make a positive impact in the lives of my future patients.
To complement my studies, I have actively sought practical experience in the field. I have had the privilege of volunteering at esteemed medical institutions like Kaiser Permanente and Cedars-Sinai Marina Del Rey. In the Emergency Room, I worked closely with dedicated healthcare professionals, gaining invaluable firsthand experience. Witnessing the fast-paced and dynamic nature of the ER only deepened my passion for patient care and commitment to pursue my career in nursing.
Additionally, I have obtained certifications that contribute to my skill set in the healthcare field. I hold an EKG technician certificate, which enables me to perform and interpret electrocardiograms. Furthermore, I have acquired a Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate, ensuring that I am equipped with the necessary skills to respond effectively to emergency situations and provide crucial life-saving interventions.
With a strong background in the service industry, I have been working as a Barista Trainer at Starbucks since March 2020. In this role, I have been responsible for developing customized training strategies for individual baristas, taking into account their knowledge, experience, and strengths. I have successfully trained and mentored five new team members, using positive reinforcement and encouraging coaching methods.
Additionally, I have played a key role in driving sales by upselling specialty items. Alongside training, I have handled cash transactions and processed payments accurately to ensure a seamless customer experience. I have also resolved order issues promptly and efficiently, prioritizing customer satisfaction and timely delivery.
From February 2022 to October 2022, I worked as a Receptionist at Sanitise-It in Carson, CA. In this role, I managed appointment scheduling, communicated with clients, and maintained updated client records. I was responsible for sorting, receiving, and distributing mail correspondence between different departments and personnel. Furthermore, I handled the central telephone system, directing calls to the appropriate parties and promptly responding to inquiries from callers seeking information.
Prior to that, from July 2019 to February 2020, I was a Team Member at Chick-fil-a in Redondo Beach, CA. In this position, I consistently delivered exceptional customer service by resolving challenging customer complaints to their full satisfaction. I also played a vital role in promoting brand loyalty and maximizing repeat business.
Additionally, I trained my colleagues in new company safety procedures through hands-on instruction and roleplaying techniques. Throughout my time at Chick-fil-a, I processed customer orders, provided assistance, and ensured top-notch service delivery.
These experiences have honed my skills in training, customer service, problem-solving, and organization, making me a valuable asset in any customer-oriented role.
I am currently enrolled at El Camino College, where I am completing my prerequisites for nursing school. I anticipate finishing these requirements by the summer of 2024. Additionally, I graduated from Narbonne High School in Harbor City in 2018. These educational experiences have provided me with a strong foundation and equipped me with the necessary knowledge and skills to excel in my professional endeavors.
