Thato Molopo

I hold a degree in Recreation Management and bring over 11 years of experience in Outdoor Education, working with people of all ages and backgrounds. My career began in 2013 in an overnight camp environment, where I led activities ranging from icebreakers and campfire programs to archery, high and low ropes, lawn games, and belaying for climbing and abseiling.

Today, I serve as Head of Adventure and Entertainment Coordinator at TO Strand Beach Resort. In this dual role, I design and deliver engaging holiday programs for guests, manage a team of counsellors, and coordinate a wide variety of activities. Mornings might feature beach games such as volleyball or touch rugby; afternoons bring kayaking, wall climbing, miniature golf, or indoor sports like action cricket and netball; evenings are filled with family events including bingo nights, quizzes, and live music performances that I organize and book.

Since 2022, I have been in a managerial position, transitioning from Youth Activity Counsellor to leading and mentoring my own team. Every summer since 2019, I have also worked at Kamp Kohut in Oxford, Maine—progressing from Outdoor Education Counsellor to Director of Outdoor Education in 2024. This seasonal role, which I undertake alongside my work at TO Strand, allows me to bring fresh ideas, skills, and energy to both positions.

I am passionate about creating memorable experiences, fostering community, and delivering exceptional service. I look forward to continuing to grow within the recreation industry while sharing my expertise and enthusiasm with others.
