‒ The aim of the project is to upgrade the existing cryogen drains systems in the Oxygen plants in Sasol West Unit 040 and East Unit 240, used to drain liquid oxygen (LOX) and other cryogen liquids from the oxygen trains into the cryogenic tank and allowing the cryogen liquids to vaporise under atmospheric conditions.
‒ The objective of the Nitro Dam Water Treatment project is to provide effluent treatment for the Sasol Nitro Fertilizer dam’s inventory by routing the flocculated water to the Nitro Water Tank/Dam.
‒ The objective of this project is to reduce steam consumption at Phenosolvan and Ammonia Recovery plants Unit 016 and 017 to create additional capacity for electricity generation.

Design Specialist – Control Systems, NATREF FCCU PA Abatement Project (2017)
The purpose of the Fluidized Catalytic Cracker Unit (FCCU) Particulate Matter (PM) Abatement Project is to design and install a new process unit at the Natref site to meet the requirements of the Air Quality Act, as gazetted in 2013 (No 37054). The Air Quality Act restricts the emission of sulphur oxides (SOx), oxides of Nitrogen (NOx) and particulate matter (PM) to atmosphere.
‒ Provide Basic Engineering Design Drawings, Instrument Index, Instrument Data Sheets, BOM / BOQ for Instrument Cables, Junction Boxes and Field Instruments for Detail Engineering Phase Cost Estimates.
Design Specialist – Control Systems, Sasol Group Technology Front End Loading Small Projects (2016 – 2017)
To provide Stage 1 and Stage 2 (Conceptual and Basic Engineering) Deliverables and also do Stage 3 (Detail Engineering) Estimates for the following projects.
Design Specialist – Control Systems, Sasol 17th Oxygen Train, OBL Project (2015 – 2016)
The purpose of this Project is to provide additional high pressure oxygen production capacity in order to maintain the Sasol Secunda Oxygen production baseline whilst allowing for refurbishment of the existing Air Separation Units (ASU’s). The 17th Oxygen Train will not only produce HP Oxygen but will also supply HP Nitrogen, LP Nitrogen and Dry Air to the Secunda complex.
‒ To provide Basic Engineering services for all OBL systems required by the 17th Oxygen train IBL.
Design Specialist – Control Systems, Sasol Collaboration Projects (2015 – 2016)
‒ The purpose of this Project is to provide the additional measurements and control functionality to the Coal Processing units East and West.
‒ The purpose of this Project is to enable the routing of Product water from Proxa Unit to the Sasol Synfuels Factory (SSF) for re-use, as oppose to the current practice of releasing the Product Water to the river. The existing route is to be maintained as an alternative routing when routing to SSF is not available.
‒ Replacement of the Gunk Stabilizer is required due to severe metal loss, which is suspected to be caused by organic acid corrosion due to the presence of catalyst and hydrocarbons in the product streams. The replacement of the gunk stabilizers is necessary to sustain equipment availability.

The purpose of this Project was to present and summarise the ‘Boiler Scope of supply package’ and the ‘Inspect and Repair Scope package’ for Unit 3 Boiler Recovery at Duvha Power station (Witbank).
Taking site walks per system to access the level of damage caused by the explosion in Unit 3, deciding on the boiler scope of supply points, deciding which equipments need to be replaced or to be inspected and repaired.

TFM is a mining company producing copper, cobalt and associated minerals. The objective of the Project was an expansion of the plant facility to produce more copper, cobalt and associated minerals.

Principal Designer – Control Systems, SASOL Gas Heated Heat Exchanger Project (2007 – 2011)
The GHHER project forms part of Secunda Growth Programme, and will be connected to the existing ATRs (Auto Thermal Reformers). During normal operation, the GHHER and ATRs will be fed with 100% MRG (Methane Rich Gas). Flexibility will be designed into system so that the new GHHER/ATRs will be able to operate with a mixture of MRG and NG (Natural Gas).

Senior Designer – Control Systems, Indeni Instrument Modernisation Project, Ndola Zambia (2006 – 2007)
The objective of the Project was to upgrade the refinery to the new DCS and ESD systems and building a new centralized control room, because the technology used on the plant was outdated. The plant was built early in the 1970s and it was using mostly pneumatics and most of the instruments were not working anymore.
To provide all the Basic and Detail Engineering services and Construction support.
Designer I, II – Control Systems, NATREF Clean Fuels 1 Project (2004 – 2005)
The project was about the upgrade of the Diesel Unifier Unit in preparation for fuel specification changes to the final products from its operating division, the objectives were to reduce sulphur in the diesel product to 500 parts per million (PPM) and elimination of lead and methylcyclopentadienyl manganese tricarbonyl (MMT) additives in the gasoline pool.

Drafter III, IV – Control Systems, SASOL Conversion of Sasol One to Natural Gas Project (2002 – 2004)
The objective of the project was changing Sasol Chemical Industries feed stock supply from coal to natural gas fed from Mozambique. The natural gas was changed to synthetic gas using an Auto Thermal Reformer (ATR).
To provide all the Basic and Detail Engineering services and Construction support.
