Toby Kim

I am a multidisciplinary mixed-media artist (illustrator, bookmaker, photographer, and home cook) based in NYC. Growing up in Connecticut, Pittsburgh, Shanghai, Seoul, Abu Dhabi, and New York City, I've been inspired by a diverse group of communities which is reflected in my projects. Recently graduated from Parsons School of Design with a BFA in Integrated Design, I continue to create bodies of work inspired by my Korean-American heritage and upbringing where I deconstruct my cultural identity and representation as an individual. My making process documents different steps of my work by utilizing mind maps, observations, and sketches to apply a reflective element to it as well.
