I am very passionate about data. Data is an asset to any company or entity and should be handled just like IT servers, people, and other valuable assets.
I have a lot of experience working at Harvard University for 11 years and Boston Medical Center for 4 (pre covid) and have learned that handled improperly, data can cost companies millions and can cause audits to happen and compliance to fail.
I would like to work with a company that needs someone who understands technology (databases, servers, cloud solutions, etc.), but also understands that IT doesn't own data and it's a company wide initiative to make sure data is secure, in compliance, means the same thing across the company (i.e. a “customer” could be a patient or vendor at a hospital).
I'm looking to work with a company who realizes that data is an asset and should be treated as such. In order to benefit and profit from data, they must be seen as assets, just like inventory, materials, products, etc.
